Teaching

My teaching philosophy emphasizes critical thought and application of sociological concepts outside of the classroom.  I strongly believe when students' interests and experiences intersect with course material, they cultivate a greater comprehension of the subject matter. My goal is to teach sociology not as a fixed field, but as a process whereby students can participate in cross disciplinary discussions.  The result is an inherently more inclusive and interdisciplinary learning environment.  Below are links to my syllabi, assignments, and Cultural Sociology blog of ideas, images, and links relevant to sociology.
