Research

I use a cultural sociology framework to explore how resistance is articulated in cultural practices.  More specifically, my areas of focus include subcultures, prefigurative politics, popular culture, deviance, gender/sexuality and social movements.  My interests range from global media consumption to regional activist subcultural practices.
